Braxton Barrel House in Fort Mitchell has been taken over by coffins, gravestones and Halloween cocktails served in collectible mugs.

The craft bar at 5 Orphanage Road is one of 34 venues across the country selected for the Black Lagoon pop-up, a traveling Halloween cocktail experience created by bartenders Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes. The pop-up runs through Oct. 31, with no cover charge and no reservations required, as reported by WLWT on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Black Lagoon started as a one-night event in Toronto and has grown into an annual North American tour, according to KXAN Austin.

The Braxton Barrel House event page lists four signature cocktails. Abyssa's Obsession pairs pumpkin-infused Kraken rum with coconut, pineapple and Oloroso sherry over crushed ice, served in a keepsake Abyssa mug. The Bone Temple mixes Teremana blanco tequila with tart cherry, spiced oat orgeat and vanilla honey. A Demon Dance combines coconut cream cheese bourbon with carrot cake syrup and Amontillado, finished in orange glitter. Moon Shadow shakes nutmeg-infused vodka with Mr Black cold brew, banana and Fino into a foam stenciled with cinnamon and cocoa.

Non-alcoholic options are also on the menu.

The pop-up is open to all ages until 9 p.m. Guests 21 and older are welcome after 9 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted through Oct. 31.

Beyond the cocktails, Braxton Barrel House has scheduled themed events throughout October. A spooky cookie decorating class is set for Wednesday, Oct. 14. A Witch Market on Saturday, Oct. 17, will feature tarot readings, dark florals, crystals, permanent jewelry and apothecary goods. Hocus Pocus trivia lands on Thursday, Oct. 22, and free pumpkin painting follows on Saturday, Oct. 24. The month closes with an interactive reptile experience hosted by Dino Buddies on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The pop-up also features themed food specials. Black Lagoon Taco Week items include a Fall Veggie taco with fried butternut squash, poblanos and roasted corn, and a Nashville Hot taco with shredded chicken, avocado slaw, hot honey and pickle.

Braxton Barrel House is open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. More details are available at blacklagoonpopup.com.
