First Financial Bank is collecting canned and nonperishable food at four Northern Kentucky branches through Friday, Oct. 30.
The bank's fifth annual food drive begins Thursday, Oct. 1, at its financial centers in Edgewood, Burlington, Covington and Hebron. Residents can drop donations in marked bins at any of the four locations during regular business hours.
The Edgewood branch is at 3580 Madison Pike.
Over the drive's first four years, First Financial has collected more than 28,000 food items across its Midwestern footprint, according to LINK nky. Last year's campaign alone brought in more than 9,800 items. Those totals cover the bank's full network of branches, not just Northern Kentucky. The bank has not broken out how many items came from its NKY locations.
Roddell McCullough, the bank's chief corporate responsibility officer, said in a statement that the drive connects to First Financial's goal of strengthening the communities it serves. "In all that we do, we are committed to the wellbeing of our neighbors. This food drive builds on First Financial's purpose of creating opportunities for our clients and communities to thrive,", McCullough said.
After Oct. 30, bank employees at each location will choose local organizations to receive the collected food for distribution. The bank has not yet named which groups will benefit from the Northern Kentucky collections.
Donations are limited to canned goods and shelf-stable items. No perishable food will be accepted. Residents who want to contribute can visit any of the four NKY branches during the month of October and look for the marked collection bins.
