Beechwood's Nathan Pabst scored three first-half touchdowns Friday, Sept. 25, pushing his season total to 15 as the No. 1-ranked Class 2A Tigers beat Owen County 63-0 in Owenton.
Pabst scored on the ground, through the air and on special teams before halftime, when Beechwood already led 56-0. The three scores gave him eight touchdowns over his last six quarters of play, according to LINK nky.
Through five games, Pabst's 15 touchdowns break down to nine receiving, four rushing and two kickoff returns. Quarterback Emmett Queen, a Wake Forest commit, threw two more touchdown passes against Owen County, giving him 10 on the season.
The defense got in on the scoring. Tyler Fryman, a University of Kentucky football and baseball commit, returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown. Colin Ritter added a 31-yard pick-six. Bo Sowder and Garrison Wilson each scored rushing touchdowns in the blowout.
Beechwood (5-0) entered the week No. 1 in the Class 2A statewide media poll. Head coach Noel Rash, who earned his 200th career win at Beechwood in a Week 4 shutout of Simon Kenton, has the Tigers rolling through their district schedule.
After Beechwood's season-opening 42-0 win over Indian Hill on Aug. 29, Rash said of Pabst: "He's one of the best players in Greater Cincinnati … Not just because of this game. He's that kind of kid."
The 5-foot-8, 178-pound playmaker now has 15 touchdowns in five games.
Dixie Heights beats Scott 49-12
Dixie Heights picked up its second straight win, beating Scott 49-12 on Friday. The Colonels improved to 2-4 after starting the season 0-4. Running back Levi Gilliland powered Dixie Heights' Week 5 turnaround with 270 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-19 win at Henry Clay, and the offense carried that momentum into the Class 5A, District 6 opener against Scott.
No individual stats were available for the Dixie Heights game as of Sept. 26.
St. Henry sets program wins record
St. Henry shut out Gallatin County 52-0, improving to 3-2 and setting a new program record for victories in just the Crusaders' second varsity season. St. Henry matched its 2025 win total back in Week 4 with a 49-14 win over Bellevue. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the program milestone.
All three area teams opened district play Friday, as we previewed Sept. 25. Beechwood and St. Henry compete in Class 2A, District 5.
