Edgewood kids 12 and under will march in costume from St. Pius to Presidents Park on Sunday, Oct. 25, for the city's Spooky Sunday celebration.

Children gather at St. Pius at 3:45 p.m. for the costume parade. The march to Presidents Park steps off at 4 p.m., according to the city's event page.

Once at the park, children will receive a trick-or-treat bag while supplies last. A magic show follows at the basketball court, leading into a costume contest with judging in five categories: ages 3 and under, 4–6, 7–9, 10–12 and groups.

Residents who want to volunteer for Spooky Sunday can email Elam at [email protected] or call 859-331-5910.

Spooky Sunday is one of three Halloween-season events on the Edgewood Recreation Department's fall calendar.

A pumpkin carving contest takes place Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at Liberty Hall. The event is free and open to Edgewood residents only, limited to the first 20 families to register with one registration per household. The city provides pumpkins. Families must bring their own carving tools.

The city's trick-or-treating runs separately on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. That is a citywide event, distinct from the afternoon Spooky Sunday activities the week before.
