A charity pickleball tournament benefiting the Northern Kentucky Police Chiefs Foundation will bring players of all skill levels to the Cold Spring Community Center outdoor courts on Sept. 26.

The inaugural Back the Blue Pickleball Social, organized by the foundation and promoted by the City of Lakeside Park and the Cold Spring Police Department, is a round robin format with check-in at 9 a.m. and play beginning at 9:45 a.m. Entry costs $50 per two-player team, and all proceeds go to the foundation.

Heather Markus of the Lakeside Park-Crestview Hills Police Department is coordinating the event. The joint police authority serves both Lakeside Park and Crestview Hills.

The foundation described the event as a lighthearted, low-pressure gathering open to all skill levels in a Facebook post by the Cold Spring Police Department on Aug. 11.

Players are encouraged to wear costumes and come up with creative team names.

All skill levels are welcome.

Awards will be given for first, second and third place, plus prizes for Best Team Name, Best Dressed and other categories.

Registration is available online through a Google Form linked on the event flyer. The City of Lakeside Park also posted the event on its official website.

Residents interested in signing up or learning more can contact Markus at (859) 331-5368 or [email protected].
