Beechwood's volleyball team will defend its Region 9 All 'A' title at home in Fort Mitchell the week of Aug. 24, bringing what the Cincinnati Enquirer called one of the "10 can't-miss girls volleyball matches in Greater Cincinnati in 2026" to the Den.
The Tigers are coming off a historic 2025 campaign. Head coach Matt Long led Beechwood to its first-ever Kentucky All 'A' State Championship, a 33-6 record that set the school's wins mark, and a No. 4 state ranking, the highest in program history. Long was named KVCA Girls Region 9 Coach of the Year and the Enquirer's Northern Kentucky/Indiana Coach of the Year.
That postseason run also featured Maggie Dawson and Isabel O'Brien on the 9th Region All-Tournament Team, with O'Brien earning KVCA 2nd Team All-State and Skyler Estep picking up All-State Honorable Mention. The program reached its first regional semifinal since 2017 and won the NKAC Division 2 title.
Three seniors anchor the 2026 roster. O'Brien, a Bellarmine University commit, returns alongside Macy Armstrong and Rachel Lewandowski. The Enquirer recognized all three among Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky's top senior volleyball players heading into this season.
@BeechwoodVB: "The Region 9 All 'A' is always a battle, and we're ready to defend our title. Pack the Den and bring the energy!"
The program posted that message Aug. 20, referencing the Enquirer's must-see list as the Kentucky high school volleyball season opened Aug. 18.
Beechwood opened 2026 by traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee, for the Showdown at the Sunsphere tournament Aug. 21 through Aug. 22. The Tigers return to Fort Mitchell to host the All 'A' regional the following week. Exact match dates and start times have not been announced. The Den is at 54 Beechwood Road.
