Thomas More University women's soccer opened its home schedule with a 4-0 shutout of Shawnee State on Sept. 2 at Republic Bank Field in Crestview Hills.

Three freshmen scored three of the four goals as the Saints (1-0-2 overall, 0-0-0 G-MAC) outshot the Bears 25-4.

Freshman Reese Wilkens broke the scoreless deadlock in the 28th minute, blasting a shot from distance inside the left post. Senior Andjela Popovic drew the assist.

Freshman Hadley Greene doubled the lead just before halftime, placing a long-range shot into the net in the 44th minute. Freshman Sammi Aydelott assisted.

The second half brought two more goals in quick succession. Freshman Addy Fogle tucked her second goal of the season inside the near post in the 67th minute, again off a Popovic assist. Two minutes later, junior Ivy Hoffman got behind the Shawnee State defense and slotted her second goal of the season inside the far post. Junior Riley Rolfert earned the assist on that play.

Popovic was the Saints' top playmaker, finishing with two assists and three shots, two on target. Hoffman led the team with five shots, two on goal. Aydelott added three shots and one on target to go with her assist, according to Thomas More athletics.

The Saints held a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal. Shawnee State (0-1-0, 0-0-0 MEC) managed just four total shots all night.

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Yeager earned her first career win, making three saves for the clean sheet. It was a thorough performance.

The Saints wrap up their non-conference slate when they host Trevecca Nazarene on Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at Republic Bank Field.
