Thomas More University's men's cross-country team earned its first win of the 2026 season Sept. 12 at the Hanover Invitational in Hanover, Indiana.

The Crestview Hills program posted a team score of 45 at the meet hosted by Hanover College, according to Thomas More Athletics.

Freshman Mark Antrobus, a Crescent Springs native, led the Saints with a second-place overall finish and a time of 20:39.39 in the 6K race. The result was a sharp improvement for Antrobus in the early season. At the Mike Baumer Invitational on Sept. 4, he placed 34th in a shorter 5K course with a time of 16:24.53, according to LINK nky.

The team result told a similar story. Thomas More opened its season at the Mike Baumer Invitational at Wright State University, finishing eighth out of nine teams with a score of 186. Eight days later at Hanover, the Saints cut that score to 45 and took first.

Women's team also wins at Hanover

Thomas More's women's cross-country team matched the men's result Saturday, winning the Hanover Invitational with a team score of 30.

Sophomore Campbell Gerling dominated the women's 5K, finishing nearly a minute ahead of the second-place runner to claim the individual title, according to Thomas More Athletics. The Saints placed four runners in the top 10.

The sweep gave both Thomas More cross-country programs their first victories of the fall.

Notre Dame invite up next

Both squads now face a step up in competition. The Saints travel to South Bend, Indiana, on Sept. 18 for the National Catholic XC Invite hosted by the University of Notre Dame. The men's race will be an 8K, the team's first at that distance this season.
