St. Henry volleyball rolled through Scott in straight sets Aug. 31, winning 25-8, 25-6 and 25-12 in the Crusaders' first home match of the season at Holbrook Hall.

The lopsided sweep came against a Scott program that finished 29-12 last season and entered 2026 ranked No. 3 in the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) 10th Region preseason poll. Scott coach Andrea Sullivan surpassed 500 career wins last season, according to LINK nky.

No set was competitive. St. Henry allowed just 26 total points across three frames.

The Crusaders, ranked No. 6 in the first regular-season KVCA poll released Aug. 28, now turn to their biggest early-season test: a Sept. 1 trip to No. 2 Notre Dame Academy. The Cincinnati Enquirer called the matchup "an early measuring stick for both teams as far as postseason play goes."

The rivalry runs deep. Notre Dame swept St. Henry during the 2025 regular season, but the Crusaders pushed the Pandas to five sets in last year's regional final, according to the Enquirer. Notre Dame has won 56 straight regional matches, a streak stretching back to the 2021 9th Region tournament final against St. Henry.

St. Henry's roster skews young. The Crusaders carry just two seniors who combined for 10 sets of playing time last fall. The core is a junior class led by hitter and blocker Violet Main, setter Madelyn Keipert and libero Kenadi Sieg, a KVCA second-team all-state pick last season who has verbally committed to the University of Cincinnati.

Notre Dame enters at 4-2, having not dropped a set against a Kentucky opponent. The Pandas' only losses came to Ohio schools Archbishop McNicholas and St. Ursula. Senior outside hitter Teagan Kondik, a 6-foot-1 Cincinnati commit, recorded 310 kills and 30 blocks last season.

"Volleyball has had a lot of success … There is a lot of pride in the team," Notre Dame co-coach Hannah Colvin told LINK nky in an Aug. 17 season preview.

St. Henry lost to Beechwood 2-1 in the 9th Region All 'A' Classic championship Aug. 27. The Crusaders responded with the Scott sweep four days later. St. Henry was 7-3 entering the weekend, per the KVCA poll, and the win over Scott pushes that mark to at least 8-3.

Varsity is set for Tuesday night at Notre Dame Academy.
