Notre Dame Academy volleyball swept Sacred Heart Academy 3-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in a matchup the Cincinnati Enquirer called a clash with a "rival powerhouse."
The win extends a strong stretch for the Park Hills program, which bounced back from losses to Louisville Mercy and St. Henry in early September. Individual set scores were not available.
Senior outside hitter Teagan Kondik, a 6-foot-1 University of Cincinnati commit and KVCA all-state honorable mention, was among the Pandas in action against Sacred Heart. Kondik recorded 310 kills and 30 blocks last season, ranking second and fourth on the team, according to LINK nky's preseason coverage.
Junior Makayla Roose also played a key role. Roose earned a Cincinnati Enquirer athlete-of-the-week nomination for the week ending Sept. 13 after posting nine kills, nine blocks and two digs in a win over Ursuline. She ranked second on the team in blocks last season.
Senior Dara Jackson, who led the Pandas in digs a year ago, was photographed digging and passing throughout the Sacred Heart match.
The straight-sets result mirrors how Notre Dame dominated 9th Region opponents during a 59-match winning streak that St. Henry snapped on Sept. 2 in a five-set thriller. Of those 59 victories, 53 came by sweep. After that loss dropped the Pandas to 5-3, co-head coach Madison Salkowski said the team needed a reset.
"I think our girls really need to take away the fact that everybody's a competitor in the Ninth Region … and that we have to come to play this year," Salkowski told LINK nky after the Sept. 2 loss.
Notre Dame entered 2026 ranked No. 3 in the KVCA preseason poll and No. 1 in the 9th Region. The Pandas went 32-8 last season and claimed their fourth consecutive regional title. They reached the state championship match before falling to Louisville Assumption in five sets, with the final frame ending 17-15.
The next confirmed date on Notre Dame's schedule is the Playing for a Purpose event on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Boone County High School, where the Pandas face Beechwood.
