Hayden Harlan and Anna Bain each found the net as the St. Henry Crusaders shut out the Dixie Heights Colonels 2-0 in a district women's soccer match Sept. 9 at Dixie Heights in Fort Wright.

The win came in the first half of a district doubleheader between the two Kenton County programs, with the men's match scheduled for 7:30 p.m., St. Henry Athletics posted on X.

Harlan continues to be one of the Crusaders' most dangerous scorers. She also netted the lone goal in St. Henry's 1-0 win over Holy Cross on Aug. 22, a result that clinched the 9th Region All "A" championship for the Crusaders. Goalkeeper Kaylee Ryan earned the clean sheet in that title match.

The shutout was a bounce-back for St. Henry, which lost 1-0 to McNicholas on Sept. 5. The Crusaders routed Ludlow 8-0 on Aug. 26, a game in which six players scored: Harlan, Phoebe Gadd, Anna Yuskewich, Ava Waymeyer, Ashlyn Landerwitch and Bain's fellow goal scorer from the Dixie match, Yuskewich, each contributing multiple goals.

That depth showed again Wednesday.

On the men's side, St. Henry entered the doubleheader at 6-1 and Dixie Heights at 7-3, according to MaxPreps. Both squads earned early-season recognition in the Rundell Rankings, a math-based Elo rating system for Kentucky high school soccer, with Dixie Heights at No. 16 and St. Henry at No. 29 as of Aug. 18.

The Crusaders' boys also won the 9th Region All "A" title on Aug. 22, beating Beechwood 1-0 on a Cooper Gastright penalty kick. Gastright earned tournament MVP honors, and Landon Schmidt, Nik Maher and Connor List were named to the All-Tournament team, LINK nky reported.
