Edgewood's City Council will not meet on July 20. Flooding that struck the city building on July 14, caused enough damage to shut down the scheduled session, according to a notice the city posted on edgewoodky.gov on July 16.

The notice, posted by city staff member BNitschke, stated that damage from the flooding made the building unusable for the meeting but did not detail the extent of damage or a timeline for repairs.

The next regularly scheduled Edgewood City Council meeting is Monday, August 3, at 6:30 p.m.

Mayor John D. Link has not issued a separate public statement about the flooding or the building's status. The city has not indicated whether other municipal services operating out of the building have been affected.

Residents with business before the council will need to wait until the August 3 session. The city's website has not posted an alternate location or a virtual meeting option.

The city's summer calendar continues with several events in the coming weeks:

Tuesday, July 21 — Free Summer Concert at Presidents Park. The Flatwood Hollar Band plays Southern rock and country at 7 p.m. at Presidents Park, 283 Dudley Rd. The concert is free and open to the public. Concerts are cancelled if it rains.

Tuesday, July 28 — Summer Concert Series continues. Marty Connor performs classic rock at Presidents Park at 7 p.m. Free admission.

Monday, August 3 — City Council meeting. 6:30 p.m. at the city building (pending building status).

Friday, August 7 — 23rd Annual Mayor's Golf Outing. Tee time is 8 a.m. at The Golf Courses of Kenton County.

Saturday, August 8 — Freedom Park Yard Sale. 9 a.m. to noon at Freedom Park, 550 Freedom Park Drive. Edgewood residents can reserve a space for $20, which includes a table, two chairs, a garage sale permit, advertising, and hauling of unsold items to charity.
