Dixie Heights High School principal Roddy Stainforth won the Kentucky School Counselor Association's (KSCA) Principal of the Year award.

The Kenton County School District announced in an Aug. 10 post that Stainforth was one of two district employees honored by the KSCA this year. Woodland Middle School counselor Julie Lovell received the Middle School Counselor of the Year award. The district said it was the only one in Kentucky with two KSCA winners in 2026.

Both are set to be recognized at a luncheon in Lexington on Sept. 11.

It is the second straight year a Dixie Heights principal has earned the honor. Dr. Vivian Gonzalez-Bodden, then the school's principal, won the same award in 2025, according to LINK nky reporting from October 2025.

Dixie Heights serves nearly 1,500 students in grades 9 through 12 and is one of 22 schools in the Kenton County School District, which enrolls about 13,800 students.

Stainforth also received a Team Kenton Staff/Community Award at the Kenton County Board of Education's Nov. 3, 2025, meeting, according to board minutes.

Beechwood Independent Schools teacher Megan Seifert was also named 2027 Kentucky Teacher of the Year on Sept. 10.
