The Kenton County School District hosted the Northern Kentucky regional meeting of the Kentucky School Boards Association on Sept. 1 in Covington.

The Dixie Heights High School jazz band performed for the evening gathering. The student musicians are part of an instrumental music program at Dixie Heights that includes eight ensembles, led by band director Sarah Shamblin.

Two Simon Kenton High School students, Morgan Bartlett and Carter Huelsmann, volunteered at the event, the district said on X.

The KSBA regional meetings bring together local board members, legislators and Kentucky Board of Education members for training and discussion of education issues. Attendees earn 1.25 hours of state-mandated board training credit at the sessions, which the association has held for nearly 90 years.
