Crescent Springs and Villa Hills bring back their Fall Fest on Saturday, Sept. 19, with live music, a pumpkin patch and a mobile reptile zoo at Lou Hartfiel Memorial Park.
The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at 800 Buttermilk Pike in Crescent Springs, according to the city's official announcement. The band What About Jane plays from 6 to 9 p.m.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The Harvest Grill and a beer truck will be on site. The city recommends bringing a lawn chair or blanket.
No admission fee is listed in the announcement.
The two cities have co-hosted Fall Fest at the park in previous years, including September 2024 and September 2025. Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank, is the premier community partner sponsor for this year's event.
Road projects and city business
City Administrator Mike Daly's Sept. 14 report to Mayor Daugherty and the Crescent Springs City Council outlined several infrastructure updates alongside the Fall Fest details.
An emergency repair on Eubanks Road carries an estimated total cost of $120,000. The city received a $50,000 Emergency Municipal Road Aid (MRA) Award, leaving a $70,000 city share. Staff are determining whether that $70,000 can come from existing MRA funds or will require a budget amendment.
City Engineer Greg Sketch reported that borings on the Eubanks Road slide project are complete. Design was expected to finish by Friday, Sept. 18, with the project ready to advertise for bids the week of Monday, Sept. 21.
On the Old Crescent Springs road improvement project, Sketch reported field locations are approximately 90% complete and the field locations plan is about 75% done. Preliminary design was scheduled to begin the week of Monday, Sept. 21.
The city has pivoted away from using that project for Local Agency Road Program (LARP) funding because of road-widening requirements. Crescent Springs is evaluating alternative road projects for the LARP submission instead. Conservative cost estimates, based on roughly $200 per ton of asphalt, include Meadow Wood at $123,330, Crossings at $110,950 and Baxter at $52,540, among others.
Daly's report also noted the city's 2025–2026 annual audit was completed the week before the Monday, Sept. 14 meeting.
