Rachel Lewandowski owns the top line in Beechwood volleyball's record book for career blocks.
The senior outside hitter reached 236 career blocks to become the program's all-time leader, the team announced on X on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The milestone came on Senior Night at Beechwood, where the Tigers honored seven seniors in their final home match of the regular season.
Lewandowski wasn't the only Tiger to land in the record book. Senior middle hitter Macy Armstrong was recognized the same night as second all-time in career blocks with 183, according to a separate post from the program's account.
The two seniors have anchored a Beechwood front row that helped the Tigers compile a 30-2 record and a No. 4 ranking in the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) poll. Their only losses came to Assumption, the top-ranked team in Kentucky, and Seton, the top-ranked team in Ohio, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Both Lewandowski and Armstrong were named to the All 'A' Classic state all-tournament team in September when Beechwood won its second consecutive small-school state title in Owensboro. Lewandowski also earned all-tournament honors at the Ninth Region All 'A' Classic in August.
The record-setting senior class has rewritten the program's stat sheet this fall. Isabel O'Brien, a Bellarmine University commit, broke the school record for career kills and aces. Setter Skylr Estep surpassed 3,000 career assists, second all-time in program history.
Head coach Matt Long hit his 300th career win this season. The milestone was one of several for a program riding a 10-game winning streak.
"If we didn't have a target on our back, we definitely have a target on our back now," Long told the Enquirer after Beechwood's five-set win over Notre Dame on Oct. 10. "It's a double-edged sword and I think we're here for the challenge."
That win over the second-ranked Pandas went five sets (25-21, 25-18, 16-25, 18-25, 15-9) and marked the first time Beechwood had beaten Notre Dame. The Ninth Region tournament is set for Dayton High School, where three of the state's top six teams will compete.
